This one day course is aimed at those who use Mobile Scaffold Towers as part of their work as use of these towers requires a high level of safety when using these access towers as well as a safe way of erecting and dismantling them.
The aim is for the class to safely, correctly and competently erect, alter, tie-
Learners must be at least 18 years of age and have no physical disabilities that would preclude them from being considered competent in the erection, alteration or dismantling of or working from mobile access towers. Learners should also be confident to work at height.
Learners will have the opportunity to discuss the specific legal duties under the Work at Height Regulations and who controls their activity and the lines of communication to use. This will include reporting procedures for defects, hazards or unsafe procedures detected.
Learners must understand the principles of fall protection that the Regulations require to be used be able to recognise safe and unsafe situations / activities.
To understand how to deal with the hazards associated with the task the correct use and limitations of any work equipment allocated to them for the task.
To understand safe procedures of work and state the correct procedure for the task, the emergency (including rescue) procedures in place for the work and their role in it
